In 1907 our DAR chapter, the General Peter Gansevoort Chapter NSDAR, started the Schuyler Society of the C.A.R. We reinstated that C.A.R. society in 2003. Our mission is to instill an appreciation for the
history of our country’s founding, to encourage leadership and citizenship, and to have some fun seeing and reliving the history of our area.
C.A.R., the nation's oldest, largest, patriotic youth organization, offers membership to anyone under the age of 21, lineally descended from a man or woman who, rendered material aid to the cause of
American Independence as a soldier, sailor, civil officer, or recognized patriot in one of the several
colonies or states, of the United States.
